Trip to Mountains

Jmb and I drove across the foothills parkway to LookRock Campground..

We spent the night in Townsend and drove the Cades Cove Loop

Trip to Davenport Gap

We hiked on the AT to the shelter at Davenport Gap

TWe drove from Cove Lake up 25W to the Gap.. This is the acutal gap in the mountains as seen from town

Fall trip

It was a warm fall day so we drove to Norris and walked the songbird trail

a nice trail along the lake with lots of people walking their dogs

Three fishermen followed us

We drove across the dam and took the old road to Cove Lake..

We ate delicious barbeque at the Cove Lake restaurant.

After driving to Big Ridge, I had to take off my shoes and cool my feet.

Big Ridge was warm and the colors were starting to change.

A day in the mountains

It was a beautiful warm fall day in the mountains and we started hiking in cosby campground.

We drove to the top of the mountains and saw lots of yellow leaves and a few red ones on the way ....Mountain ash berries on Clingmans Dome

Hike out of Treemont

We hiked at Treemont today..It's a three waterfall hike..

There is a bench at each waterfall...

Cades Cove was beautiful today and there wasn't much traffic..
